Setting up and pairing - the HR sensor for first-time, only need to do this once:
Turn the sensor on by pushing the button on the side (green lights will come on)
In the Polar App (when prompted to sign in, don't - just press continue without signing in), go to settings on the bottom right (cog icon).
HR Sensor will show as Not Paired - click on this.
When the Sensor appears on the screen, click PAIR.
If any pop-up notifications appear, click close.
Leave Visibility setting toggled on, the other two settings toggled off.
Click on the back arrow (top left) then turn Voice Guidance off.
Click on Training icon on the bottom left of the screen - you are now ready to start your session.
To start using the light therapy: Click on iPad settings (the icon that looks like a cog):
Ensure WiFi is turned on and that you are connected to your home WiFi network.
Go to VPN settings and Click on the PERSONAL VPN (the bottom button). Do not touch the top “VPN CONFIGURATIONS” button, please leave this turned off. The toggle icon should go green and read "connected".
Ensure your iPad WiFi connection is at full strength, less strength affects results:
You can test your WiFi signal (with a phone or laptop) using the following link: https://shorturl.at/T44MI. For best results you should see:
Download speed: >5 Mb/s
Jitter: <30 ms
Ping: <150 ms
3/3 or 4/4 bars of Wi-Fi strength at the top right corner of your phone.
If these criteria aren't met, we recommend this WiFi extender: https://shorturl.at/gQWVj
Go back to the home screen and click on the red & black Polar Beat icon.
Click on continue (do not sign in).
Ensure that the main sport icon is displaying "indoor cycling" - if not, click on the + sign and select Indoor Cycling (very important).
Turn the Polar heart rate sensor on (this will already be synced to your iPad) and place your thumb on it. You should see your heart rate appear on the screen (see below HR = 69bpm).
Place the sensor on the part of your body you wish to target with either the Polar strap provided or some medical tape (criss-cross over the back of the sensor - just ensure:
It is in a location where it picks up your heart rate, and
That the sensor is taped firmly to maintain contact with the skin.
Push start to commence your light therapy session.
Ideal results will be achieved when you are within 3m of the iPad when in use, as distance affects results, however, try to stay within 10m of the iPad when in use (this allows roaming around the house).
Push pause to pause or stop the session.
Push continue to continue the session or stop to finish the session.
You can either save or delete the session.
Go back into the iPad settings and turn off the VPN.
Consistency is key, ensure you use Opti Light every day where possible.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
At times your home wifi connection may lose signal. In which case, your VPN connection will disconnect, and your HR sensor will no longer be delivering our technology. Simply Click on the PERSONAL VPN (the bottom button) to restore connection.
We recommend that you check your VPN connection regularly and that you keep your iPad displaying the VPN status, as per the below picture. Unfortunately, you may lose connection overnight while you sleep.
Note: OptiRTP will be launching a new Opti Light app soon that will significantly streamline the use of Opti Light.
