Usage tips for best results with OptiRTP

Based on over 10 years of research, user feedback and observations, see the OptiRTP usage tips below: 

FOR BEST RESULTS:

1. Optimal daily use: 
  1. Opti Sound: 4-6 hours daily (minimum single session time of 2 hours)
  2. Opti Light: 9 hours daily (minimum single session time of 3 hours)
2. Minimum daily use:     
  1. Opti Sound: At least 2 hours daily (1 session)
  2. Opti Light: At least 3 hours daily (1 session)
Note: You cannot use sound and light therapies at the same time. 

3. Hydration:  Drink plenty of water (at least 1L extra daily).

4. Equipment: Replace earbuds after every 60hrs of Opti Sound use and the Polar HR sensor every 12 months.


GENERAL USE:

1. Wi-Fi Signal: Ensure a strong connection where you use the device. Use a compatible Wi-Fi extender if needed.

2. Stay Close: Keep within 3m of the iPad

3. Charging:  You must not charge the iPad during an Opti Light or Opti Sound session

4. Reset Modem Weekly: Unplug and turn off your modem for 7 minutes once a week to clear its cache.

5. Do not run any iOS updates: do not update the iOS software if prompted by Apple.


USING OPTI SOUND:

1. Position: You must place the cord behind your neck with the battery/controller on the left.


2. Volume - Ensure you can hear the white noise (rain sound) in both ears. Test this in a quiet room. The sound just needs to be audible in both ears, louder is not better. It’s okay if you can’t hear it in noisier environments (e.g. while watching TV).

3. Session Length - Use for at least 2 hours at a time, up to a maximum of 6 hours daily.


USING LIGHT:

1. Placement:  On or near your injury or localised pain. 
    • For local pain/recovery: Tape / strap the Polar HR sensor 2cm past/below the injury. 

    • Do not place the sensor on an open wound. 

2. Session Length - Use for at least 3 hours at a time, up to a maximum of 9 hours daily.
